dr. marsha muir

Dr. Marsha Muir has been in practice in Santa Cruz for nearly 20 years. She is a graduate of the George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, DC, and she completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Kaiser Foundation Hospital in Oakland, California. She is Board Certified and taking new patients. Dr. Muir enjoys scuba diving, reading mystery novels, cooking and gardening. She has a daughter and a grandson.

Dr. Janna Doherty

Dr. Janna Doherty came to Santa Cruz in 2000 following her OB-GYN residency at Kaiser Foundation Hospital in San Francisco. She is a graduate of the University of Vermont College of Medicine. Dr. Doherty is Board Certified and taking new patients. Dr. Doherty plays soccer and enjoys world travel, reading and studying Italian. She has a twin son and daughter and lives in Scotts Valley.

Dr. Naomi Silber

Dr. Naomi Silber is a native Californian, having grown up in Santa Monica and attending San Francisco State. She went to medical school at New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY, but missed her home and returned for residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Kaiser Hospital in San Francisco. Dr. Silber is Board Certified in OB-GYN and is taking new patients. Dr. Silber enjoys knitting, travel, reading, and SCUBA diving. She is a new mother of twins.

Dr. Anne-Marie Jackson

Dr. Anne-Marie Jackson came to Santa Cruz in 1995 after completing her residency in OB-GYN at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in San Jose. She attended medical school at the University of Illinois in Chicago after graduating from Harvard University with a degree in Anthropology. Dr. Jackson is Board Certified and taking new patients for her Gynecology Only practice. Dr. Jackson is an avid bicyclist, and often travels to Italy to ride and practice her accordion.

Dr. Amy Herold

Dr. Amy Herold is originally from Northern California. She attended the University of Utah where she received her degree in French then graduated from medical school and business school at St. Louis University. She has chosen to practice in beautiful Santa Cruz after completing her OB-GYN residency at Kaiser Hospital in Santa Clara. Dr. Herold is taking new patients. She enjoys surfing, reading, and spending time with her two goofy dogs.

Margann Mentor, CNM

Margann Mentor, CNM has been involved in the birth community since 1981. She started as a homebirth assistant before attending UCSF for her midwifery degree. Margann has been delivering babies in Santa Cruz since 1996. She is the mother of two and enjoys mountain biking, downhill skiing and working to better her community.

Leora Fromm, CNM

Leora Fromm, CNM has been delivering babies in Santa Cruz since 1999 following her training at UCSF in midwifery. Before becoming a midwife, Leora worked as a professional baker, and she continues to enjoy baking and cooking. A native Californian, Leora lives with her husband and two children in Felton.

Meredith Hammig, CNM

Meredith Hammig, CNM worked as a Labor and Delivery nurse at San Francisco General Hospital before earning her midwifery degree from UCSF in 2002. She worked for several years in Santa Cruz before moving to Napa three years ago. We are happy to welcome Meredith back to Santa Cruz, where she lives with her three children.

Sue Ungar, NP, MS

Sue Ungar, NP, MS is a Nurse Practitioner with a Master’s Degree in Nursing from UCSF Medical Center. She has worked in the area of women’s health since the mid-sixties, specializing in bio-identical hormones for the past 20 years. Prior to joining us, Sue had her own practice, Hormone Balancing, located in Capitola. Married with three children and two grandchildren, Sue enjoys tennis, yoga, crosswords, and traveling to far away places.
